Thank You email - how does this service work?
The Thank You email Service automatically sends customized emails to bidders on your auctions and buyers of your fixed price items. This gives them an early point of contact to with you, to establish a relationship and to build trust with your potential customers in a manner similar to how you would acknowledge customers browsing the shelves in your physical shop or store.
You can also customise your outgoing Thank You email to:
- Remind buyers of your combined shipping policy
- Offer promotional codes for future purchases
- Provide other information to help convert bids into sales
The outgoing email will automatically include a link to your eBay other items for sale and an opt in link for your mailing list. The Thank You email Service also ensures that bidders and buyers only receive ONE message per item. Multiple bids, or bids and a win, on a single item will result in only one message being sent to that bidder. You also have the option of turning on or off the sending of Thank You emails.
Does this comply with eBay's privacy policy?
Yes, eBay's privacy policy states that sellers may use user information for "eBay transaction-related purposes that are not unsolicited commercial messages". Messages that provide information to bidders and buyers that is relevant to the item being bid on or purchased are compliant with this policy. Also, the Thank You email service does NOT store any information about a bidder. Bidder email addresses are only stored if they explicitly opt-in to join your mailing list. Bidders also have the option to opt out of receiving any further messages from a link automatically provided for you on each outgoing promotional email.
How can I use the Thank You email to increase sales?
There are many ways in which you can take advantage of the additional early bidder contact provided by an AuctionThanx Thank You email to increase sales. Consider customising your email to include the following:
- Highlight your combined shipping policies.
- Promote any special offers that you are currently running.
- Provide a specific promotional code for a discount on any future purchases.
Note: a link is automatically included to visit your other eBay items for sale, and an Opt-in to subscribe link for your mailing list (to receive future offers from)
Can I turn on or off the sending of the Thank You email?
Yes, in the Thank You email creation page you can uncheck the option to send the email. This switches off ALL Thank You emails to be sent until you turn it back on again.
At what stage will the Thank You emails be sent?
The Thank You email Service's algorithm will detect a bid or a purchase using the following schedule:
- Every 4 hours: We check eBay for any NEW auctions you have listed.
- Every 4 hours: We check for NEW bidders when the auction is ending in more than 24h.
- Every 60 mins: We check for NEW bidders when the auction has less than 24h but more than 1 hour left.
- Every 15 mins: We check for NEW bidders when the auction is ending in less than 1h.
- ....................... and send your customized Thank You message accordingly.
